IISW Assessments

Independent Immigration Social Work

Age Assessment

Merton compliant - Trauma informed

We use an approach with young people where we prioritise their needs and look to reduce the impact of them experiencing any further trauma.  We focus on building trust, taking a curious approach in helping young people to tell their story, to help us to make a balanced and evidenced based decision regarding age.

Our process ensures that the assessments are legally compliant and robust.

When supporting local authorities we offer an expert social worker to work alongside the local authority worker providing an opportunity in role modelling a trauma informed approach.

Best Interest Assessments

Balanced and professional

We understand that people have complex histories and challenging life experiences and approach BIA's with sensitivity and respect. Using a range of direct work tools we support children to contribute to assessments in situations where their family may be facing deportation.

Our experience helps us to understand the family's context, with a confidence in providing a person centered and professional approach during assessment sessions.

Family Reunion Assessments

Assessments worldwide using UNHCR guidance

At IISW  we understand the importance of family and the profound impact that separation can have on lives. Our specialised reunification assessments are designed to assist sponsors in the UK who wish to reunite with their relatives. We conduct thorough evaluations, taking into consideration the best interests of all family members involved. We ensure a compassionate and comprehensive approach, addressing any concerns and navigating the complexities of the reunification process.
